Memphis-Shelby County Office of Planning & Development
The Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development (DPD) is a joint agency that serves both the City of Memphis and Shelby County Government. DPD provides guidance and direction in the adoption of policies and regulations to encourage long-range community development in Memphis and Shelby County Tennessee. The agency deals with public policy issues that include residential, commercial, and industrial land use development standards; transportation and service delivery; and capital improvements.

The Community Foundation of Greater Memphis is the largest grant maker in the Mid-South. Last year its 1,000 charitable funds granted $35 million to more than 1,000 charitable interests. It also awarded some $600,000 from its Community Partnership Fund to area nonprofits.
